About Us

Alpine’s Empowerment Agency was named in honor of my late grandmother, Alpine Berry, whose life reflected care, community, and compassion. She was known for opening her home and heart to children in the community, providing a safe space, a warm meal, and the reassurance that they were cared for.

Her example continues to shape the heart of Alpine’s today.

At Alpine’s Empowerment Agency, we strive to create that same sense of safety, support, and belonging for the individuals and families we serve. Our work is rooted in integrity, trust, quality, respect, and faith, helping people heal, grow, and become empowered to thrive through every season of life.

Shawnee Neal,

Shawnee is the founder of Alpine's Empowerment Agency. Shawnee is a Licensed Addiction Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She also holds an EMDR Certification. She earned a Master's in Social Work from the University of Denver. She specializes in working with high-risk youth, adults, older adults ages 55 and up, and families who are caregivers to older adults. I enjoy helping others overcome many life obstacles--from unhealthy relationships, trauma, and grief to abandonment issues. She is also a self-published author and an international speaker.

Carington McGowan,

Carington is a trauma therapist who is deeply dedicated to guiding individuals through their healing journey. Carington holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis and has experience working with adolescents and adults who have experienced distressing and traumatic life events. Carington has a comprehensive understanding of social and systemic factors that contribute to or exacerbate trauma. She is committed to fostering resilience and empowerment, supporting clients as they pursue their path to healing and fulfillment. She takes a compassionate and client-centered approach, striving to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore and process their emotions. Offers EMDR and Somatic Therapy.
